Customer Insight

"We use NetVision to respond to audit requirements. We need to provide reports on user accounts and administrative changes, and to ensure that there are no generic accounts (non-person-specific) hiding in the system. Reports that used to take me weeks to prepare now take only 15 minutes. And the quality of the reports is much better."

NetVision Product Features

Monitoring & Reporting
of Identity & Access Information
on core network
Directories & File Systems

Features

  • Identity & Access Focus
NetVision answers the critical question Who Has Access to What? Our streamlined focus on identity & access enables us to offer effeciencies and reporting that answer relevant questions with ease.
  • Cost of Ownership
NetVision is able to provide a very low Total Cost of Ownership. Whether you choose a managed or non-managed service, you will begin seeing a return on your investment almost immediately.
  • Ease of Management
SIMON makes system management a non-issue. SIMON is installed, configured, and customized for your environment. In addition to providing the ultimate value in terms of expertise and knowledge, SIMON also manages upgrades, patches, disk space, performance, and other system management tasks.
  • Platforms
NetVision's solutions focus on core network directories and file systems from both major network directory vendors: Microsoft and Novell. On the Microsoft side, all versions of Windows and Active Directory are supported from Windows 2000 through 2008 (including both 32-bit and 64-bit versions).
  • Security
NetVision solutions can be delivered via software or an appliance that lives within your environment. So your sensitive security information remains within your own network. Through SIMON, The NetVision team manages our own system and configures policies and reports. But, we do not require permissions that would enable us to make high-risk changes within your environment.

Capabilties

  • User Accounts
NetVision can provide critical information about which accounts exist, current group memberships, account status, dormant or orphaned accounts, and the rights granted to those accounts.
  • Access Rights
NetVision provides reports on access rights based on directory accounts, status, group memberships, object types, specific attributes, and file system Access Control Lists.
  • Administrative Activity
NetVision's real-time monitoring watches for administrative activity such as new account creations, account changes, group membership changes, directory OU object moves, file system ACL changes, and file property changes. Reports can only represent a given point of time. This monitoring ability enables you to stay in compliance and within policy in between audits and even generate alerts or initiate remediation tasks when events occur outside of policy. Policies are very flexible leveraging fine-grained filtering on event types, user accounts, specific objects or attributes, servers, success/fail status, and more.
  • User Activity
NetVision provides real-time monitoring of user activity such as account logon, logoff, and lockout events. We can also tell you who is looking at particular files or report on every file that a particular user has created, opened, modified, or deleted. Our user-centric policy filtering ability also enables you to watch specific users for administrative activity so you can generate alerts by individual rather than only by event type.

NetVision answers these critical Identity & Access questions:

  • What user accounts exist? When are accounts created, modified, or removed?
  • Are there dormant or unused accounts? Are there accounts with inappropriate rights?
  • Who is making changes to accounts or permissions? What changes? When, where and how?
  • Who is accessing or changing sensitive documents? When?
  • What changes are being made to file access permissions?
  • When are accounts being added to my critical security groups?
  • When are power users or system administrators abusing their power?
