NetVision® Enables Real-Time Access Governance on Novell OES2 Linux

NetVision announces the release of its Version 7 product suite enabling real-time monitoring of access rights on Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 on SUSE Linux.

American Fork, UT – March 1, 2010 – NetVision (www.netvision.com) today announced general availability of its solution for monitoring Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES2) environments on SUSE Linux.

Access Governance requires not only who has access at a given point in time, but also tracking permission changes in real-time to understand when changes are made and to enable response activity based on those events.

Novell's release of Service Pack 2 for Open Enterprise Server 2 in late 2009 introduced among other features, the NSS Auditing Engine, enabling an interface that is accessible to third-party audit and monitoring solutions for reporting on file system activity. NetVision's version 7 release fully leverages the capabilities provided by the NSS auditing engine to provide customers with clear, concise reporting on file system events, which includes file system permission changes. As Novell introduces additional capabilities to the NSS Auditing Engine, NetVision is committed to expand its coverage once again to fully leverage the file system monitoring capabilities of Novell's NSS platform.

NetVision NVMonitor v7 offers highly configurable filtering that enables a targeted response to events based on a number of potential data points such as who is making a change or which file was affected. In addition to real-time alerts, NetVision's web based reporting provides a flexible interface for accessing event information on-demand.
