Integration of identity audit and real-time identity behavior
analysis in a single web application yields new levels of context, analysis and audit support.
San Francisco, CA (Business Wire) – (Sept. 24, 2007) – NetVision is demonstrating at Digital ID World a new platform for integrating identity audit and behavior monitoring in a single, user-configurable, web-accessible application. The new capability is fundamental to NetVision’s vision to provide a solution which independently gathers rich, contextual identity information from a relevant variety of platforms to enable IT to fully manage identity-related risk, security and compliance.
The new platform integrates information from NetVision’s applications for identity auditing (NVAssess) and for identity behavior monitoring (NVMonitor) and enables analysis and publication of reports and dashboards from both applications based on roles. This provides IT with the rich context of state and risk information combined with in-depth, real-time behavioral information.
NetVision presently provides analysis of identity information on Microsoft Windows, SuSe Linux, and Novell NetWare hosted directories and file systems. Real-time analysis of identity events (adds, deletes and changes to file and folder access rights as well as access and modification to sensitive files) for Windows File Systems is new with this release also.
With v6.0 IT and Compliance teams will be able to build security status, audit and compliance reports that demonstrate effective identity rights security across the enterprise. IT organizations will be able to readily publish these reports; reducing workload on IT departments during audits. IT's business partners will have immediate access to data they need in a timely manner.
“Organizations are challenged to collect and consolidate accurate security data for privileged user accounts”, according to Lori Rowland, Identity and Privacy Strategies analyst at Burton Group, “This data is typically dispersed across numerous platforms and applications and is difficult to aggregate. Organizations will increasingly need to automate the gathering and contextualization of information relevant to their security, policy, and compliance requirements”
“Digital Identity is a powerful enabling tool for IT. NetVision enables IT to monitor the actual and potential use of identity rights and compare them to organizational policy. This essential check enhances the potential of Digital Identity by making it possible to vouch for security and compliance” said Daryl Frahm, NetVision’s VP of Market Development.
This new monitoring capability is a part of NetVision Identity Audit and Security Platform available for order in Mid-October. All cross-platform monitoring capabilities for directories and file systems are available in a single solution for $10 per identity.
