NetVision® Provides Security Audit
on NetApp® File Storage Solutions
NetVision extends Access Rights Inspector platform to answer critical security audit questions on NetApp storage solutions.
American Fork, UT – October 7, 2009 –
NetVision today announced an update to its Access Rights Inspector solution enabling support for NetApp file storage solutions.
Access rights across Microsoft Windows® file systems are granted via a complex web of permissions which is affected by group memberships, file ownership, share permissions, inherited rights, and explicit permission settings. This complexity makes access audit reporting inherently costly and time consuming.
NetApp provides simple integration with Windows enabling organizations to leverage Microsoft Active Directory's built-in authentication capabilities. This makes it an ideal solution for extending file storage capacity in Microsoft networking environments. NetVision's update to its Access Rights Inspector product enables a single, user-friendly reporting console across native Windows and NetApp file servers.
"This release is a response to pervasive customer demand", explains NetVision CEO David Rowe. "Our release of Access Rights Inspector for Windows file servers in June immediately tapped into a latent pain point and we quickly found that many firms are also using NetApp to meet their Windows file server needs."
NetVision's solution for NetApp storage is a seamless integration for users of Access Rights Inspector. The NetApp file shares now appear and perform in the product the same way as other Windows file shares. There is no additional cost for adding the NetApp platform to an existing Access Rights Inspector implementation.
